Summary

It was good, but for my taste too much smut scenes。 I mean i know poppy and cas are new lovers but i just want to know more of the world and politics and history。 Since it is really complex and full of mysterie, so that could have been better。

Wow! This book blew me away。 I loved every single piece of it and I can’t wait for the next one。 But for now。 I will let the light in the flame settle my craving for this universe。 Love this one!

A bit disappointing。 There was a lot leading up to the battle between two queens only for it to be a small portion of the book。

Could not finish。 The writing shift and change of dynamic were too much for me, and this book fell flat。 Loved the first three, but I wish it had been a trilogy。

This book solidifies my never re-reading this series again。 It could have been shorter。 It could have used less mental anguish and repetitive language and empty conversations。 It makes it that much more difficult in keeping track of what the heck is going on。 The only real action again is at the end。 For shame。 The only reason for the 3 stars is for some answers revealed about relatives, backgrounds, and Kieran。 I just can’t stand the teen-ish talk between an ancient Atlantian and Mrs All Powerf This book solidifies my never re-reading this series again。 It could have been shorter。 It could have used less mental anguish and repetitive language and empty conversations。 It makes it that much more difficult in keeping track of what the heck is going on。 The only real action again is at the end。 For shame。 The only reason for the 3 stars is for some answers revealed about relatives, backgrounds, and Kieran。 I just can’t stand the teen-ish talk between an ancient Atlantian and Mrs All Powerful。 We need some real depth here。 。。。more

Such a good continuation of this story。 It was a bit slow in the beginning, but that may be because I was waiting on the edge of my seat for Cass to get rescued! Absolutely loved the big reveal at the end, & I'm excited to see how Penellaphe grows in her new form。 Such a good continuation of this story。 It was a bit slow in the beginning, but that may be because I was waiting on the edge of my seat for Cass to get rescued! My favorite of the series so farThese books are absolutely wild。 If you tried to explain the plot and lore to anyone who hadn’t read these books, they would think these are the weirdest, cheesiest, fantasy romance novels available。That said, the writing and the length of each book (though intimidating) truly aid in making this epic fantasy series make sense。I love Poppy and while sometimes she comes across a little overpowered and the books have to say “but wait there’s more!”, she is fairly gro My favorite of the series so farThese books are absolutely wild。 If you tried to explain the plot and lore to anyone who hadn’t read these books, they would think these are the weirdest, cheesiest, fantasy romance novels available。That said, the writing and the length of each book (though intimidating) truly aid in making this epic fantasy series make sense。I love Poppy and while sometimes she comes across a little overpowered and the books have to say “but wait there’s more!”, she is fairly grounded throughout。 I love watching her learn and grow into who she wants to be rather than what is expected of her。 I enjoy seeing her story progress。 While this series (and this book specifically) struggles from some overused plot armor for our main set of characters, there are moments we’re the stakes are truly high and not everyone can make it to the end。 We’ll see how long that lasts, but for now the balance is there。 I started to read this series right after this book came out thinking it stopped at four, so now I just have to sit and wait with everyone else。 The way this book ended was not the most severe cliffhanger I have seen which was a nice touch。 We can see what the next chapter of these character’s lives will bring, we know what to expect in the next book。 The wait will be worth it I hope, but I won’t lose my mind waiting to read the opening chapter like I have with some other series I’ve read! 。。。more

This should have been a trilogy, the constent repetition of informastion feels like filler to make money of more books。 Also this book could have been at lest a 100 pages shorter。 I loved the 3 first books, so i really whanted to love this book too, the last 50 pages are good though。

Nope。 That's a no for me。 No thanks。 But when she was reunited with Cass everything was fine again。 I love how they would risk everything and everyone for the other one。 Cass is everything t Still making my mind about it。。。 But, the beginning was pure suffering, I NEEDED Cass to be with Poppy, so I was annoyed every freaking scene where Poppy was so close to Kieran, like I really wasn't enjoying it。 And everyone talking about how Kieran behave as Poppys husband,? The way he thinks about her? One think that I like about him being away was that now I have his pov。 I love his pov。 I need his pov from the first and second book。 It's fine If I don't have the third one, but the first and second must be *chef kiss*I love Emil, like I'm a fan of him and his understatements。 He's so funny。 Always makes me smile :) <3I also love Delano, I was suspicious at the beginning because I really thought one of their friends were going to betray them。。。 and I don't know I didn't want them to be Emil, but now I know that he's so loyal to Poppy that would never do something like that。 I even prefer their relationship than the one with Kieran, sorry。 I feel like its more genuine? because Kieran was Cass friend and that's okay, but Delano is Poppy's protector, so yeah, I prefer him。 I need more of their relationship and bond。 If Poppy would've been an atlantian, I would've love them bonded, Or she bonded with Vonetta, not sure whom I would've preferred。I NEED more of Delano, Emil and Vonetta。 Tawny too。 Oh and Millie。 I have this thing with Millie, I just love her, I think she's hilarious, and definitely Poppy's sister, cause they both are so random。 I want to know her, know her story, and what happened with Malik。 Give me more Millie!! It's obvious that she's good, I knew it from the beginning。 It was obvious, I want everyone to know that too。 And Poppy with a sister? That's an absolutely yes from me, she needs her。Oh, and Reaver, he's also hilarious, I need more of him。I haven't read the shadow in the ember, so I think I'm missing a few pieces, but the end definitely made sure that I'll read it soon。 I was so afraid at the end, for what would happen and the cliffhanger that I was SURE Jenny would write, but I was so wrong。 I loved it。 I'm thrilled for the next book, I'm so excited, but I can definitely wait in peace, but be eager for it。 And the last 50 pages made me so nervous, I was terrified of Cass and Poppy being separated again tat I really thought in no read it, and suddenly a plot twist (that it was obvious, 'cause Jenny being Jenny wouldn't not do something completely unexpected at the end) and then EVERYONE WAS DYING, I was dying, like Hisa, Aurelia and Niall? I was sad, but then DELANO and EMIL, I was truly afraid and sad and angry。 Thank the gods everyone was alright at the end。 。。。more

Definitely an improvement from COGB。 I still didn’t find myself super excited to read it when I got about halfway through, but if there’s one thing Armentrout knows it’s how to entice with action。 Also I love Poppy and Casteel but at this point less sex is more 😫 It gets so boring to read I end up skipping most if not every sex scene
